The course will be held at Poltimore Farm, Farway, East Devon EX24 6EJ on Friday 25th October 2024, and will be mostly a round the table discussion, with some parts out in the orchard and cider barn.

This 1 day course is both a fantastic introduction to cider making and a great opportunity to refine your existing skills.

Anyone can chuck apple juice in a barrel and make some eye-watering scrumpy, and there is nothing wrong with that!
However, if you want to approach your cider making with a bit more finesse and understanding, this 1 day course if for you.

Adam's Apples very own award-winning cider maker, Tom Nancarrow will guide you through all you need to know in order to produce something worth sharing.

Refine your palette – we will taste the apples and taste the ciders, learning how to identify the key components of cider itself, from the apples themselves, to the finished product. This is a crucial skill you must develop in order to make a decent cider.

We will cover fruit selection, harvesting, equipment and various cider making techniques, from making a vintage quality dry, still cider to the elixir that is a sparkling, naturally-sweet Pet Nat or Keeve.

This course will set you off in the right direction for making quality, balanced cider. It will also re-orientate you in the right direction if you are feeling like you have gone adrift!
