Fernette is another excellent modern French variety, producing regular high yields of excellent quality nuts. <br> The final tree size is around 6-8m in height and spread, so can be planted from 6-9m apart from other walnut trees. <br> Fernette is a late flowering vairety, flwoering at the end of April- early May, so suitable for areas of late spring frosts. It is known for winter hardiness. <br> Harvesting time is late September - early October.
