A modern French variety, early-bearing and high yielding, making a compact tree , so suitable for smaller growing spaces/closer planting distances. It will grow to around 4-5m in height and spread. Lara walnuts can be planted at 4 - 5m spacing , much closer than other walnut varieties. <br> <br> Produces thin-shelled, excellent nuts from late September. <br> <br> Lara flowers mid-May, so good for missing late frosts. <br> <br> Partially self-fertile but will produce higher yields if grown alongside either Chandler, Fernette, Franquette and Fernor.
