Description
This variety produces a very attractive golden russet and is ready to pick mid/late September. Similar in taste to an 'Egremont Russet', it is arguably juicy and richer in flavour than the more widely know 'Egremont', with notes of vanilla and pear. It is generally an easy tree to grow, a tip bearer. It can be susceptible to canker in wet areas, and is better grown in the drier parts of the UK. It is an excellent early russet, delicious.
It can be dated back to 1875, developed by Mr R. Harvey of Bury St.Edmunds, Suffolk.
