Description
Striped Beefing is a particularly handsome apple with stripes of dark red over green. It was found growing in a garden in Lakenham, Norwich in 1794, though it did not come into wider cultivation until about fifty years later. It makes an upright tree of moderate vigour and if stored well the apples will keep until April or May of the following spring. It makes a rich, brisk and creamy puree and a well-flavoured, baked apple.
