Description
A great quality late season dual purpose apple. It was originally bred by Thomas Laxton of Lincolnshire, c.1880 froma King of the Pippins x Cox's Orange Pippin cross. Can be used as a cooker in November and makes a brisk, aromatic and juicy eating apple by December. It has a bittersweet flavour so it can also be useful as a cider apple. Moderate vigour and good general disease resistance - suitable for northern and south west England.
