Description

An early season dual purpose apple from the Bridport area in west Dorset, first sent to the Cider Institute in 1926.
Liz Copas says it is often described as a pastry apple - suitable for dumplings, sharp and well flavoured. It is reputed to have been brought over by Monks from Normandy in the 16thC.
Can be used as an early cooking apple or an early sharp for cider.
