Description
Raised by Richard Cox around 1825, who also raised Cox's Orange Pippin from seed, this is a lesser know but very good mid-season eater/cooker. Produces large apples, fruit is crisp but sharp when eaten off the tree and of good flavour. Regular cropping, and is moderately vigorous and spurs freely so good for training.
Much more disease-resistant than the better know Cox apple! This is suitable for growing in Northern Britain.
Flowering Group: 4
Season of use : Sept - November
