Description
Glen Ample has vigorous upright spineless stems, which need supporting over the winter and will fruit the following summer. The bright red, firm fruits have an excellent flavour and the canes crop heavily, which is why it has been of the most widely planted cultivars commercially. Firm berries will hold their shape when freezing/defrosting.
Does need good soil conditions - requiring free-draining, moisture retentive and fertile soil! If you are growing in more challenging parts of the country - wetter/windier/heavier ground - we would recommend Malling Jewel as a summer cropping raspberry.
