Bill Mumford planted a new cider orchard at Polgrain Farm near Hayle in 2014 with 195 of our trees. Bill is fourth generation at Polgrain Farm, which was a Victorian fruit and flower farm when his great grandfather first bought it.
The plan is to sell the apples to David Berrick of St Ives Cider Company. The trees are looking really good and strong, growing organically and mulched around the base to reduce competition from the grass. King of the Pippins is already giving a healthy crop and with the sandy loam and sheltered position these trees are going to do really well.
